Some projects instantly grab your attention — and this was definitely one of them.
We were recently commissioned by Pro V8 in France to create a completely bespoke set of 18″ billet wheels, inspired by the legendary Daytona FIA race wheels. Designed specifically for one of their stunning Daytona race car builds, this was a project that combined classic motorsport inspiration with modern Image Wheels engineering.
Built for a Proper Race Car
The specification for this set was serious from the outset, with an aggressive staggered fitment perfectly suited to the car’s stance and race-focused setup:
- Front: 9.5 x 18″ ET+10
- Rear: 11.5 x 18″ ET-5
Each wheel was manufactured as a 3-piece split rim wheel using our bespoke billet centres, allowing us to create the exact look and dimensions required for the build.
The Daytona FIA inspiration is clear in the design — purposeful, motorsport-driven, and perfectly at home on such an iconic silhouette.
From Billet to Finished Wheel
As with all our wheels, the process started from raw material right here in our UK factory.
The attached photos showcase the journey through the different stages of manufacture, from the initial machining operations, through finishing and final assembly, all the way to the completed wheels ready for fitting.
Seeing the progression from freshly machined billet to fully finished wheels never gets old, especially on projects as special as this one.
Trial Fitting Begins
We’ve already had the pleasure of seeing the front wheels trial fitted to the car, and the results speak for themselves.
With work currently underway on the rear axle setup, the full package isn’t assembled just yet — but even at this stage, the stance and presence of the car are already incredible.
