Who says pink can’t be tough? 🩷
Some cars are built to blend in. Others are built to stand out. And then there’s Paul Mankerty’s stunning 1970s Ford Escort Estate, rather appropriately nicknamed “The Mad Pig”!
With its eye-catching pink paintwork and unmistakable personality, this is one Escort that certainly knows how to turn heads.
And when Paul decided it was time for a fresh set of wheels, we were more than happy to help!
A Splash of Pink – 13″ RS4 Wheels
For his rather special Escort Estate, Paul chose a set of our RS4 three-piece split rim wheels, manufactured in a suitably chunky 8.0 x 13″ all round fitment.
The specification:

- Size: 8.0 x 13″ front and rear
- Construction: Three-piece split rim
- Outer rims: Beautifully polished
- Centres: Custom pink metallic finish
And what a combination!
The polished outer rims provide that classic old-school motorsport look, while the metallic pink centres tie everything together beautifully.
But there’s a little more to the story behind that colour…
A Perfect Colour Match
When you’re building a car as distinctive as the Mad Pig, sometimes an off-the-shelf colour simply won’t do.
Paul wanted the wheel centres to complement the pink detailing on his Escort perfectly, so it was arranged for him to have the centres finished by a company local to him, allowing for a much more precise and bespoke colour application.
It’s one of the benefits of our bespoke, made-to-order wheels. We understand that every build is different, and we’re always happy to work with customers to achieve something a little more personal.
And judging by the finished photographs, we think Paul absolutely nailed the colour choice!
As they say, on Wednesdays we wear pink…

Turning Heads at OhSoRetro!
The Mad Pig is certainly no stranger to attention on the show scene, and with its new Image Wheels fitted, the response has been fantastic.
Paul recently attended OhSoRetro, where the Escort attracted plenty of admirers, with the wheels proving to be quite the talking point.
Paul was kind enough to share some lovely feedback with us:
“You’ve obviously seen the fantastic positive response to the new wheels. Had an amazing flow of people commenting on the car at Ohsoretro and especially the wheels, it was interesting to hear people’s opinions on what they thought what the wheels were and also on what your products are.”
And on his experience dealing with us:
