At Image Wheels, we’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible individuals over the years — none more inspiring than the late Benjamin Obadiah Iqbal Zephaniah.
Best known as a revolutionary poet, author, and activist, Benjamin also had a deep and genuine passion for classic British cars. Among his favourites was the Triumph TR7, a vehicle he lovingly restored and reimagined in his own unique style.
A Poet with Petrol in His Veins
Benjamin didn’t just collect classics — he brought them to life. His Triumph TR7 was far from factory standard. With a V8 engine conversion, brake upgrades, and personal touches throughout, he created a car that reflected both his creative spirit and mechanical curiosity.
This was a build driven not by nostalgia alone, but by a love for craftsmanship, heritage, and individuality — values we deeply share.

To complete his vision, we were honoured to supply a set of custom IFX wheels for Benjamin’s TR7. These wheels were built to order in our UK facility, designed specifically to match the car’s upgraded performance and aesthetic.
With carefully calculated offsets and a timeless design, the wheels became a fitting complement to a truly one-of-a-kind car.
Remembering Benjamin
Benjamin Zephaniah inspired generations through his words, activism, and fearless authenticity. That same spirit shone through in everything he touched — including his cars. We are proud to have played a small part in one of his many passions.
From poetry to performance, he lived life on his own terms.
And that Triumph TR7? It still tells his story.
